Arsalan Nasir (b. 1990, Karachi) is a visual artist and academic whose practice focuses on New Media art and interactive installations that address social, cultural, and environmental issues. He is an Assistant Professor and Head of the Fine Arts Department at the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture (IVS). Nasir earned his Master’s in Art & Design Studies from Beaconhouse National University, Lahore, in 2017, following a BFA with Distinction from the University of Karachi in 2013.
Nasir has exhibited widely, including both group and solo shows, and received the Emerging Artist Prize at the Karachi Biennale in 2019. He has participated in notable residencies such as Replay: Reveries of an Urban Dreamland (with IOBM and Umbrellium, supported by the British Council), IRL: In Real Life (VM Art Gallery), Social Sculpture (VASL, in collaboration with Heinrich Böll Stiftung), Indigenous Responses (Elixir School, in collaboration with DOVS at Karachi University), and Incubator (Sanat Initiative).
His work explores the role of art in public spaces, initiating critical dialogues and offering innovative perspectives on technology, creativity, and public discourse.
