Faryal Ahsan

Lahore, Pakistan

With a BFA degree in Miniature painting, Pakistani artist Faryal Ahsan’s practice extensively revolves around deconstructing this traditional form of art. She works around creating comical scenes in a collage-like manner, highlighting the general public and the culture of Pakistan, with a continuous side experimentation with stop motion videos. She has exhibited her work nationally in numerous galleries in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, including Canvas 2015, Full Circle Gallery 2015, and Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) 2015. She was also a resident of the VASL 7th Taaza Tareen residency program in Karachi in 2014. Along with being a practicing artist she is a visiting faculty member of the A-level campus of The City School and a creative writer for the digital magazine ArtNow.
