Welcome to VASL Newsletter Online # 9
High on VASL's list always has been alternative learning through its cross cultural and educational exchange.
In September 2007 we have a Video Art Workshop in Karachi for Pakistani artists being conducted by video artists Karen Mirza and Brad Butler (UK) on invitation by VASL. Please check below for details.
VASL's expanding role can be seen in its independent monthly study group and curatorial collaboration's like the one with Citizens' Archive Pakistan for the 'Shanaakht' Project in Karachi on the occasion of 60 years of Pakistan's Independence.
For Pakistan it's a reflective time along with the challenges it faces ahead and our residencies, talks and collaborations with other organisations have been worked along with an effort to offer due thought and importance to this occasion.
For upcoming programs visit www.vaslart.org
Documentation and archival work is an open and developing database on our website, being worked backwards from the contemporary to the masters, slowly being added now.
