Unum Babar

Unum Babar’s work spans across many different media, from video installation to drawing. She has exhibited nationally, as well as internationally in the US, UK, India, South Korea and Canada, and has work in collections like the Devi Art Foundation in Delhi. Along with her solo practice, she also produces work in collaboration with Matt Kushan, including a permanent public art project located within the historic Lawrence Garden of Lahore. She received her BFA and a Postgraduate Diploma in Art Education from Beaconhouse National University in Lahore. Subsequently, she received an MFA from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2013 as a Fulbright Scholar, where the Boston Globe featured her as one of Boston’s rising young artists. She is currently Assistant Professor at Beaconhouse National University, teaching in both the Foundation Studies and Visual Art Departments, and lives and works in Lahore.
