Visual Perception is a creation of the Mind’s eye. The eye is blind to what the Mind does not see. The Mind’s eye actively seeks those features that fit our image of the world. It looks for closure- for meaning and understanding in the patterns that it receives.
In a foreign environment, the eye automatically seeks objects that it is familiar with. Only to find itself lost within the same familiarity. A feeling of disorientation, yet a new sense of discovery.
