Textile Residency 2005, Danica Maier - UK
As part of our efforts to create International exchanges with International artists and art Institutions, we set up our first Research Residency in the field of Textile.
Danica Maier is teaching at Goldsmiths College of Art in London and working at the London Print works.
During her visit to Karachi, she taught at the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture. She also interacted with the faculty and students at TIP (Textile Institute of Pakistan) and the Visual Studies Department of Karachi University.
On her personal research into the textile art of this region, she went to Lahore where she also worked with the Textile Departments of NCA (National College of Arts) and BNU (Beaconhouse National University).
This Residency, has been supported by the British Council, Karachi.
