His recent work consider images from History of Art in his own context, not appropriating their exact mode of composition or execution, but re-situating and revisiting their contents in the light of his own contemporary visions.
My visuals and references keep evolving, as I am interested in contradictions and similarities in visuals, sourced from different ages. In my research as an artist, most of my concerns are about the time, history and mythology. In one of the aspects of my practice, I am interested in interactions and conversations with people, places, and objects. My drawings are intended to be visual records of these conversations. This aspect/interest comes in my practice because of my own experience of having lived in various places, and knowledge of various cultures through that experience. During the process of Drawing/Painting, the studio transforms into a transitional space, where subdued transformations are perpetually occurring between Images/Visuals. Belonging to various periods, the Images carry figures and landscapes that relate to our recent time. Art practices from various periods, regions and from art history are a source of curiosity and hence play an important role in my practice.
