About

Vasl Artists’ Association presents ‘Retracing Laterally: Connecting Across Humanity Indexes,’ an initiative by Hajra Haider Karrar led together with Juan Pablo Garcia Sossa.

The three day research gathering focuses on temperaments informed by humidity indexes, their formation and responses to failing and corrupt infrastructures. Thinking through the resilient strategies that emerge in its wake and are shaped as epistemic sites of resistance to the imposed chaos in order that recognize interdependency reflected across human and more than human entities.

The program brings together a gathering of artists, cultural practitioners, and activists, who have been engaging with these phenomena and resonating mindsets in regions aligning according to humidity percentages including Southeast Asia, South Asia, Africa, and Latin America.

The three-day workshop took place on October 28th till October 30th, 2024 between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM at The Vasl Gallery
