Tahir Zaman (b. 1994, Chitral, Pakistan) is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice engages with ecological fragility, class structures, and the politics of material. Rooted in his upbringing in Chitral and shaped by his experiences in Lahore, his work explores how landscapes and communities are transformed by systems of power, climate change, and modernization. Working across painting, installation, and video art, he incorporates natural materials such as rose thorns, sheep wool, tree bark, and human hair to examine resilience, labor, and cultural memory. Zaman holds a BFA in Painting from the National College of Arts, Lahore (2017), and an MA in Art and Design from Beaconhouse National University, Lahore (2025). He has exhibited nationally and internationally, including two solo exhibitions: Between Black & White at Khaas Contemporary, Islamabad (2025), and Beauty & Pain at Alliance Française Lahore (2025). His awards and residencies include the GE Curatorial Mentorship Programme, Dubai (2025), Fluxus Museum Prize for Experimental Video, Paros (2025), Vasl’s Museum of the Unseen project (2025–26), COLABS Creative Collective Residency (2025), and the Artist Practice Residency at Shakir Ali Museum, Lahore (2017).
