Durrie Baloch (b. 1997, Quetta, Balochistan), now based in Lahore, is a new media artist, writer, and researcher. She graduated with a distinction in Painting from the National College of Arts, Lahore, in 2021. Her practice explores themes of identity, culture, and existence by transforming everyday moments into digital animations, immersive installations, and experimental sound-based works.
Durrie draws inspiration from her Baloch heritage, particularly the oral traditions and communal expressions of women in her hometown of Nushki. These influences inform her exploration of sound, memory, and space, which she reimagines through contemporary media.
She has participated in several national and international residencies, including the Vasl Museum of Sound Residency in Karachi (2024-2025), the Fearless Collective Residency in Colombo, Sri Lanka (2025), the Han International Artist Residency in Turkey (2023), and the International Painting Symposium in Romania (2024). In addition, she was part of a leadership and feminist training program with Sangat Nepal, which has deeply informed her commitment to art as a tool for social change.
Durrie has exhibited her work at O Art Space, Ejaz Art Gallery, Artciti Gallery, and Zahoor ul Akhlaq Gallery, among others. Her work is also part of the permanent art collection at Ambiance Hotel in Islamabad. As an ambassador for Fearless Collective and a member of Sangat Nepal, she actively engages in discourse around social issues and uses her artistic practice to address themes of gender, identity, and cultural preservation
Currently, Durrie teaches drawing and Art Seminar as a visiting faculty member at the National College of Arts, Lahore, where she also manages the Fine Arts department’s digital platform.
