Farrukh Adnan is a visual artist based between Lahore and Washington D.C. who uses drawing and photography to explore the cultural memory of his hometown, Tulamba. His work examines the patterns and structures within ruins, as he conducts research, collects relics, and maps his experiences. As a child, he was fascinated by gathering shreds, coins, and terracotta toys from the ruins, drawing shapes, animals, and names on muddy surfaces. Adnan holds a degree in Visual Communication Design from the National College of Arts and a Master’s in Art and Design Studies from the Mariam Dawood School of Visual Arts and Design at Beaconhouse National University. Dedicated to his artistic growth, he has participated in many workshops and earned recognition, including shortlisting for The Arts Family London Art Award-South Asia 2023 and nominations for the Jameel Prize 6 and Sovereign Asian Art Prize. His work has been exhibited locally and internationally.
