Maha Minhaj is an art educator, activist, curator, and artist in Karachi. She was the Assistant Curator for Karachi Biennale in 2022 and has since curated shows in Karachi. Her works have been exhibited at the Venice Biennale in 2017 as part of the Imago Mundi Collection, International Public Art Festivals, and multiple galleries across Karachi.
Minhaj’s multidisciplinary practice is embedded in writing, drawing, photography, and performance art. She is interested in collaborative practices; her ongoing research is grounded in exploring ethical frameworks within forensic curatorial practices that are rooted in visibility, care, and radical futurity. Additionally, she works as a photographer for multiple grassroots movements within the city.
In 2022, the First Lady of Pakistan was awarded a Curatorial Award at the Pakistan Ladies Fund Awards. In 2024, she was granted a Fellowship by The People’s Climate Collective, a program of CSIDC in collaboration with AktivAsia to train for organizing in a campaign with a grassroots movement in Malir, Karachi.
