Maham Qureshi is a visual artist based in Karachi, Pakistan, working primarily in sculpture, performance, and video. A graduate of the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture, her practice explores the relationship between the body and rituals within intimate spaces, particularly the bathroom—a site layered with notions of purity, impurity, spirituality and seclusion. Through sculptural forms and recorded performance/video, Maham creates immersive works that preserve and reimagine ritualistic acts, often using tactile materials such as tile, hair, sand, and soap. Her work delves into personal and cultural narratives, engaging with Islamic teachings, social norms, and the complexities of female embodiment in private spaces.
