Seema Nusrat is a conceptual artist whose practice draws inspiration from the dynamic and chaotic aura of urban landscapes. Working with sculpture, drawing, and collage, she uses unconventional materials to explore the complex relationship between imposed cityscapes and the people who inhabit them. Nusrat’s work often collaborates with diverse artists, artisans, and professionals, adopting various techniques to enhance the nuance and richness of her creations, which offer a deep cultural resonance. Her practice invites the audience to reflect on their urban environments and question their interaction with these spaces.
Nusrat holds a BFA from the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture (2002) and a Master’s in Fine and Media Arts from Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (2012).
