Born in Pakistan and based in Lahore, Huma Gul (b. 1999) is known for using media such as video, film, and sculpture to build poetic narratives around and within everyday situations, gestures, and objects. The socio- political landscape informs her fiction-based practice, interrogating the ‘agency’ embedded in history, memory, distance, and identity that define the immediate surroundings – the amputation of the self, owing to inequity, social hierarchies, and compulsion.
Gul received her BA (Hons.) Interdisciplinary Expanded Design & Art degree from Beaconhouse National University, Lahore, Pakistan in 2023. She held a position on the Dean’s Honor List from 2019 – 2023.
Guls’ work has been exhibited at Canvas Gallery, Karachi and MicroPOM, Lahore. In 2025, she was nominated for the Taaza Tareen 17 artist residency at Vasl Artists’ Association, Karachi, Pakistan.
