A Bilingual Anthology of Art, Poetry and Writings

Vasl Artists’ Association launched its new publication ‘Between Quarantine and Quest: A Bilingual Anthology of Art, Poetry and Writings’ at Canvas Gallery, Karachi. The publication is edited by Naila Mahmood and Syed Kashif Raza, designed by Halima Sadia. The book launch included a brief yet informative discussion between the editors and the designer of the book. Readings and poetry recitation by Shama Askari, Raana Kazmi & Taha Chaudhry.

Between Quarantine and Quest is an English/Urdu anthology created in response to the Pandemic of 2020. Many Pakistani and International visual artists, writers and poets responded to the theme.

Desperate voices come together to create a transforming vision of grief, fear and hope with political insight, wit, passion and intellect, affirming the stark creative grace of individual perspective and the power of collective agency.

Contributors include eminent voices from the region: Gulzar, Iftikhar Arif, Zehra Nigah, Bina Sarkar, Asif Farrukhi, Aamer Hussein, Mohammed Hameed Shahid, Attiya Dawood, Ashwani Kumar, Arif Mahmood, Dhruvi Acharya, Ruchira Gupta and many emerging artists, poets and writers.
