Syed Ammad Tahir was born in 1986, Karachi, Pakistan. He graduated from the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture in 2008 with a Bachelor of Fine Art. Upon graduation he received the Zahoor-ul- Akhlaq Drawing Portfolio Award and the Rangoonwala Thesis Scholarship. He has participated in several group exhibitions and has taught at various art and design institutes in Karachi. In 2016 he was nominated to become faculty-in-residence at Kennesaw State University, as part of the Scholar’s Exchange Programme, supported by the US State Department. He has participated in various art and design conferences, globally, including Cornell University, New York, and Ozyegin University, Istanbul. He has briefly worked as curatorial and research assistant and was also one of the participating artists in the first Karachi Biennale in 2017. Tahir’s practice includes drawing, painting and performance. He currently lives and works in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA.
