Noormah Jamal is a Pakistani Visual Artist based in Newyork. She graduated with honors from the National College of Arts in 2016, majoring in Mughal miniature painting and minoring in printmaking. And a distinction in Painting and Drawing MFA from Pratt Institute,
Since graduating, she has had numerous exhibitions nationally and internationally. Some of the shows include Space in Time at Reitberg Museum, Switzerland/Canvas Gallery Karachi, Power/play and sites of ruin at 12 gates arts Philedelphia, Solo booth at NADA Miami and her solo show Meena/Veena at Rajiv Menon contemporary in LA. Her work has also appeared in various Magazines and Publications such as hyperallergic, impulse magazine and the herald.
She was an artist in residence at Vasl Artists’ Association, Karachi, for the Taaza Tareen 2019 cycle and was Awarded the Imran Mir art prize the same year. In 2024 she was nominated for the Joan Mitchel fellowship and was a finalist for the sovereign Asian Art Prize.Currently she is a studio member at the Elizabeth foundation for the arts in Manhattan NYC.
