Ahsan Jamal is an internationally acclaimed artist, trained in miniature painting from the National College of Arts, Lahore. Known for his portrait paintings, his works are part of the permanent collection of the Fukuoka Asian Art Museum, Japan. He has participated in numerous shows, including exhibitions at Aicon Gallery, New York; National Art Gallery, Islamabad; HNTB Gallery, Washington; Tokyo Gallery + BTAP; Lawrie Shabibi, Dubai; Queen’s Palace, Bagh-e-Babur, Kabul; Cartwright Hall, Bradford; Green Cardamom, London; and several other places. A research project at Khoj Studio, New Delhi, followed a solo show in India. Ahsan has had solo shows in various prominent galleries in Pakistan. He has been involved as an educator with a number of art institutions in Pakistan, such as the National College of Arts, Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture, Karachi University, and many others. Currently, he is living and practicing in his studio in Lahore.
