Irfan Gul Dahri (b.1979, Shahdadpur, Sindh) holds a Master’s degree in Visual Art from National College of Arts (NCA), where he received the Principal’s Honors Award in 2011. Awarded the Charles Wallace Visiting Artist Fellowship in 2013/14, he studied at The King’s Foundation School of Traditional Arts, London. Dahri received ‘Sadequain Pride of Performance Award’ in 2021, ‘Arjumand Painting award’ in 2017 and ‘Chughtai Award’ in 2003. He has been a permanent faculty member at NCA since 2006 and has actively participated in numerous community projects focused on students/young artists counseling and training across various platforms and institutions. He participated in ‘Karachi Biennale 2019’, ‘Lahore Biennale 2020’, ‘Art for Climate Change Art Residency 2018’, ‘Climate Change and Art – A Practitioners’ Retreat 2016’ and ‘Vasl Residency 2007’. Dahri has had six solo shows along with numerous national and international group exhibitions. He was the first curator at O Art Space from 2017 till 2020 and has curated many notable art exhibitions independently at various other venues as well. Dahri co-founded Art Otaq, a non-profit dynamic platform for greater exposure of art, culture and education in 2021 and Numaish Gah, a contemporary art gallery in 2023. He lives and works in Lahore.
