bankleer (Karin Kasböck / Christoph Maria Leitner) have been working primarily in Berlin since 1999. For them, art is a practice for responding to social, political, and ecological events. Their works navigate the tension between discursive media and aesthetic transmissions of emotions and speculations. They operate at the boundaries between activism, sculptural performance, text, video, and sculpture in social spaces. Since 2025, they have been jointly developing the new study program Plastic and Environment at the University of Art Linz.
