Niamat Nigaar (b. 1998, Loralai, Baluchistan) is a visual artist rooted in the landscapes of his hometown and the dynamic art scene of Lahore, Pakistan. A graduate of the National College of Arts, Lahore, with distinction in 2021, Niamat’s work reflects a deep connection to materials, narratives, and the communities he engages with.
In 2023, he was selected for the prestigious Vasl Taza Tareen Artist Residency and the renowned Gasworks Artist Residency in London. This pivotal experience allowed him to expand his practice, exploring museum collections and experimenting with materials that enriched his visual language.
In 2024, Niamat contributed to Lahore Biennale 03: Of Mountains and Seas, where he ventured into new media, including film and photography, pushing the boundaries of his artistic expression. Beyond exhibitions and residencies, he remains deeply committed to his roots, conducting workshops and community-based projects in Loralai, fostering creative dialogue and empowerment through art.
