Qadir Jhatial is a Lahore-based visual artist whose multidisciplinary practice blends traditional mark-making with digital image-making to explore themes of memory, protest, ecology, and representation. He holds a BFA from the National College of Arts, Lahore (2011), and an MA in Art and Design from Beaconhouse National University (2020), where he received a distinction for his thesis and was awarded the UMISAA Scholarship.

Active since 2011, Jhatial has exhibited widely, with two solo exhibitions and numerous group shows across Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, and Tokyo. His recent work includes participation in the Karachi Biennale 2024 and CollaborARTISTS, a British Council England-supported digital collaboration.

In June 2025, Jhatial’s chapter River Allegories in the film The Sublime River, presented by Karachi Biennale, and was featured in Imagining the Forest, a British Council-supported cross-cultural project exhibited at the Richmond Arts & Ideas Festival, Riverside Gallery, UK. The work was also presented at Cross-Cultural Conversations in Orleans House Gallery, UK, alongside artists from Pakistan, Brazil, and the UK.

He is the founder of Sojhro Collective, a creative studio and collaborative platform rooted in ecological awareness, storytelling, and regional cultural research. In addition to his artistic practice, Jhatial is deeply engaged in archival work, contributing to the Zahoor-ul-Akhlaq Archive Project (Asia Art Archive, Hong Kong) and the Faiz Ahmad Faiz Archive (University of Texas).

He currently teaches Fine Arts at the College of Art & Design, Punjab University, and has previously taught as visiting faculty at the National College of Arts, Lahore.
