About
COMO Museum of Art is a private museum in Lahore dedicated to modern and contemporary art. Established in 2019, it was created to give contemporary artistic practice a more sustained public presence in the city, through exhibitions, talks, workshops, and collaborations with cultural and educational organisations.
The museum presents work by Pakistani artists alongside artists from the wider region and beyond. Its programme has included painting, sculpture, installation, drawing, and experimental forms of visual art, with exhibitions that address subjects such as history, faith, place, identity, and social change. Rather than operating as a commercial gallery, COMO is structured around the experience of looking at and learning from art in a museum setting.
Located in Gulberg, the museum has become a useful space for students, artists, and general visitors who want to engage with current art in Lahore. Its work with organisations such as the Lahore Biennale Foundation and Lahore Literary Festival reflects its wider interest in bringing art into conversation with literature, education, and public life. COMO’s aim is simple but significant: to encourage a stronger museum-going culture and make contemporary art part of the city’s everyday cultural landscape.
