As part of Vasl’s effort to create exchanges with international artists and art institutions, a research residency in the field of textile was formulated with artist and professor, Danica Maier.

Danica Maier was invited to the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture (IVS) where she interacted with students and faculty over the various forms of experimentation possible in fabric. Having taught the Postgraduate Textile course at Goldsmiths College of Art in London and worked at the London Print works, she shared her knowledge on site specific installations and looking beyond the gallery space.

During her visit to Karachi, she taught at the IVS as well as the TIP (Textile Institute of Pakistan) and the Visual Studies Department at the University of Karachi.
